Deeply Discharged 2018 MBA Very Slow OS

Hello:

I own a deeply discharged 2018 MBA. I have fully charged the battery but MacOS does not launch. Having disconnected the battery I am able to launch the computer. However, the computer is slow to point that it is unusable. I would like to restore the computer to normal operations and have done the following:

- Reset the SMC.
- Reset the PRAM
- Launched computer in restore mode in an attempt to re-install the operating system--which I suspect may be the problem Computer is hard connected to the router. However, the computer hangs at the step where it attempts download the OS.

Any thoughts as to what to try next?

MacBook throttles the CPU heavily when the battery is disconnected. You need to replace the battery.
