Sorry but MP3 I can tell. AAC I usually cant tell. I guess those who can't tell are listening to music on those crappy $30 no name bluetooth speakers that sound like a tin can. Use there phone speakers or crappy white earbuds.

One thing is for sure, stereo sounds like junk compared to multichannel with speakers.

Now I run all streaming through DTS Neo at home. And I imagine that the fact that I have a lossless subscription helps for that.

I need a DTS Virtual:X preamp for my wireless 4.1 system.

6 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI out because my wireless receiver does not have 3D, ARC, 4K, HDR10+, HLG, analog surround inputs.

It should also have Atmos, DAB+, Qobuz, etc., of course.

And it should have discrete outputs, so I can eventually hook up elevation speakers to it (preferably wirelessly). When this preamp is not in virtual mode, I could set the wireless receiver to virtual 7.1 mode.

And it should be slimline and reasonably priced!

Better yet, Panasonic could make a new, full featured wireless slimline receiver that is compatible with their old speakers (I will not go through the hassle of replacing them with new ones).
