iPhone default CAMERA APP? You must be kidding me!

So the other day I Jailbroke my iPhone 5 running iOS 6.1.2 through Evasi0n. Everything's working smoothly until I tried the default camera app and took a picture. Was quite bemused to see the below-par picture quality that it produced unlike the quality before Jailbreak.

Here is what I got (You can clearly notice the extending light rays from the lamp post!).

    Any workaround for this?

That would happen regardless of jailbreak.

Take a daytime picture or buy a different phone.

This has nothing to do with the JB

Actually I raised this issue because I took pictures at night before (without Jailbreak) and they turned out to be fine. I can't find any right now or would've posted one of them.

So you're saying there's no tweak that can correct this issue?

No tweak can upgrade the lens or sensor

Maybe you had HDR on before the jailbreak and now it's off?

    Just a guess.

HDR was on while taking this snap as well.

This is DEFINITELY not the result I got before! :(

seems like a reasonable effect... and seems unlikely the JB would affect the camera app. what tweaks have u installed??

I'm certain this is not as a result of the jailbreak. This is a hardware problem; nothing you can do on the software side to fix a hardware problem

'Camera Tweak', but then removed it to see if that was effecting but no change.

If this was a hardware problem, then it would've stayed the same before Jailbreak too.

1, bright points of lights will ALWAYS cause problems like this, depending on the circumstances. Furthermore, jailbreaking will never cause such problems per se.

2, CameraTweak doesn't alter the image in any way, unlike some AppStore image processors.

Here are two similar images. The one which has exceeding light rays is the one taken just now (Jailbroken). The other one without any light dispersion was taken BEFORE a jailbreak. You can clearly see a difference! ...

    UPDATE:
    Problem solved!

Here's what was causing this issue:
I had two tweaks installed 'Camera Tweak' and 'Transparent Camera Bar'. I removed these two and did a hard reset and Voila! the pictures are coming out normal without the exceeding light rays.

Now the devs could work on this camera issue as well which I just pointed out

Camera Tweak's advance mode has the ability to tweak the exposure setting of the iPhone. Star shape from lights are usually caused by small exposure setting (F8,F15,etc).

That's very childish of you for blaming the default camera app and JB when you've installed tweaks that alter the camera app.

Maybe I am misunderstand you but from the OP, you related the camera app issue to jailbreak issue cause there wasn't any problem BEFORE jailbreak.

Wait. Actually, I don't think I am the only one who misread your original post. EVERY SINGLE ONE HERE MISREAD IT. Maybe you should type properly or get a life!

It's common sense to me that I would check for the tweak I installed before saying it's caused by jailbreak. I guess a common sense is not so common sense to others.

    Have I misread your post?:D

Haha, stop being a 'post resolved issue' expert and say "it's common sense to check the tweaks" after I found out the solution to it. +1 to you for being an 'expert'. LOL!
