When I click on "Mail Link to this Page" in Safari on my iPad 3, it brings up a new Mail message page. The "From" field, however, shows an @me.com account that I didn't even know that I had!

1. How can I change the default From account to one of my own choosing?

2. Where did this @me.com account come from? Does it affect anything else? Can/should I eliminate or change it?

Safari has no default Mail account

I just reread the original post and realized it was about iOS not OS X. OP can ignore this response. If anyone is curious about how to accomplish the same thing in OS X, read on.

Assuming you are using Mail as the default email client (it comes that way out of the box), you can change the default account for sending messages in Mail's preferences. See the attached screenshot. I have used red ovals to call attention to the important areas.

Just change the combo box from "Account of selected mailbox" to the account you want to use.
