Default slide to read on new messages

Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the Slide to read on a new message that comes in while phone is locked? I know I can hit the lock button then unlock it and it won't autoopen the email but is that function disableable?

You can make it not appear on the lock screen. I'm not sure what the issue is specifically with the slide feature? 😕

I don't but I just turn the screen off and then back on and it won't go to the text.
