I remember being able to do this before but I just set a new system up and I can't figure this out. When I go to open a file like a mov it defaults to QTX. So right click, open with, select QT7, check always open with…but it only sets it for that one file only. I know there's a way so I don't need to do this all the time right? I hate QTX.

    Nevermind I remembered…

I guess I just needed to make a post about it to jog my memory lol!

You will need to set this for each file extension type, then it will stick.

Select the video file in Finder then command-i for the Get Info window then set it like my screenshot and click "change all."
