Can you do this? I can't find it in Finder preferences.
If you mean icons on the desktop, then click on an unused part of the desktop and use "View--->Show View Options" (or control+click and select "Show View Options" in the list).
With Finder in Icon View:
Right-click and Show View Options:
Click the drop-down to select:
That only applies to one specific screen in the Finder. I'm talking about defaulting it to the entire Finder.
Just click "Use as Defaults" at the bottom of that window.
WOW. I can't believe I didn't see that! Thanks!
This is excellent! Just what I needed!
Did anyone notice that this feature on not in 10.6.2..? Or am I the only one?
If you right click on your desktop and then "Show View Options"....
The option isn't there..
Also, does anyone know if there is a keyboard shortcut to the "Clean Up" feature..?
Snap to grid is there on my 10.6.2.
With a little digging, you can find every keyboard shortcut known to man on Apple's web site. I saw the link in another thread, but didn't bookmark it.
Found it in my browsing History
