It seems to me that with OS X 10.11 it has become even more weird how Finder windows open. On my computer they open again and again much smaller than I want - although I have already several times tried to set "my" size via the "Show View Options" window.
Is there a way to tell Finder once and for all the default size and column widths for windows that I don't know about?
