Has anyone come across this.

It has replaced my browser(s) Google startup page.

I was able to find out that it's a Windows malware, and that it could get malicious

I did do a scan with a demo from MacKeeper and full version VirusBarrier but neither found anything

I've been a Mac user for over twenty years and this is a first for me so no I've no idea how to get rid of it.

Check out your DNS settings by going into System Preferences->Network pane, Advanced button, DNS mini-tab. Also check into your cheap router's DNS. If you haven't heard D-Link Router Vulnerable To Authentication Bypass.

Thanks for your reply

D-link has been banned from our network for years now.

Everything else related to our router checks out

I suspect one of the kids went into a web area without taking precautions, since two of the computers are infected. I've disabled file sharing to hopefully protect the third.
