Update: Wow! I already received the replacement unit via Fedex overnight from Apple! That was surprisingly fast and excellent service. Charging my 11” iPad Pro now.

So after troubleshooting and testing, the Apple 20w USB-C power adapter (that was included with my 11” iPad Pro) is not working. It fails to charge any device of mine (OEM USB-C to lightning cable, USB-C to USB-C cable).

Apple support sent me a link to pay $20 for them to send a replacement power adapter and return the defective one which then they will refund me. 3-5 days to get the replacement. How am I supposed to charge the new iPad during the 5 days other than not be able to use it once the battery depletes?

Has anyone had this issue and gotten a replacement at an Apple Store for no charge?

Not this issue, but last year when I traded in my ultra for an ultra 2 a few days later they increased the trade in value...contacted apple support and they gave me an accessory of my choice, went ahead and got a wallet.

Do you have ANY USB-C chargers in the house; or anything like a laptop with a USB C port in it? The iPad will charge from most devices via the included USB-C cable.

I chatted with Apple support and yes I discovered that you can charge through a thunderbolt USB-C port as on my 2016 MacBook Pro (which was the 1st year that MBP switched to USB-C ports!). The rep said not to charge with the 87watt MacBook charger as the voltage could damage the iPad battery condition. 🤷🏻‍♂️

The 87watt MacBook chargers will be just fine. Zero chance of damage to an iPad (or anything else, really).

Yes to the first half of this; the second half is rubbish, there’s no issue using that charger for your iPad, phone, AirPods…
