I'm in Canada and have had my Macbook Pro for over 3 years now. I am on my second charger as the first one died and I had to bring it into the apple store to get replaced. That was a couple of years ago and I can't remember if I was still under the applecare plan or not. Now my charger is dead again, to no fault of my own or accidental damage. It just stopped working. If i bring my macbook and charger into applecare and show them that it's a goner, will they replace my charger free of charge or is it too late since I am not covered? I thought I remember hearing something about their being an exception for chargers but I may be wrong.

Thanks in advance

You're going to have to pay for the charger. If it's out of AppleCare, that's it. The good news is you will get a 1 year limited warranty on the new charger.
