I'm surprised I haven't seen any other threads/posts about this. I guess I'm just lucky. The Face ID on my phone doesn't work. At all. Each time I attempt to set it up, I receive the "Reposition Your Face Within the Frame" text. No matter whose face, or how close/far it is from the phone, the lighting, etc. About 4 seconds later, the attached "Face ID Is Not Available. Try setting up Face ID later." I can't be the only one, anyone else?!?!
Called Apple Support, who seemed puzzled. After some lengthy hold music, two factory resets, a handful of reboots, and several advisors, still nothing. Main troubleshooting advisor said he would email me an article as to why it doesn't work, but literally could not explain it to me over the phone. (It was like being in college and trying to write an essay on a subject you didn't have a clue about by rewording the question over and over) At one point he said, verbatim "Well, you bought the phone yesterday, so it's new, and it may be locked for 48 hours." W h a t did you just say? I kept pressing, and he eventually scheduled a Genius Bar "repair" appt for me tomorrow. That should be fun.
But other than that, I love my new iPhone! 🙄
