well im considering going into my local apple store pretty soon since i have a defective 2g ipod touch. My question is can i ask them to refund me my money (instead of a replacement) even though i bought it in October 2008?

what i mean is instead of them giving you a replacement unit, can u just claim that you are unhappy with your ipod experience and would appreciate it if you could just get a refund

No. If you were within the return policy window? Absolutely. I can go to Target and buy something and 89 days later with a receipt say "I hate this thing, gimme my money" and they have to do it.
