Nope, that didn't work. I'm still not hitting 500MB/s speeds.

You may not be able to hit that speed in AJA system as it represent the average speed, not the peaks, choose the higher resolution in the video frame resoution, and a file size of 8gb. When the test has finished clik on the text button and go to the bottom of the list, you will see higher transfer speeds.

Guy, what MBP do you have? Are you having any issues with hangs/beachballs? I am :(

Could you enter your serial in this site http://www.chipmunk.nl/klantenservice/applemodel.html and tell me your generation, build week, and factory?

Also, OWC highly recommends against enabling TRIM with their drives. I would listen to them.

I have a 3 week old just released version of the 15 in 2.3 Quad High Res matte 8gb of ram.In optical i now have a WD Scorpio Black 500gb and in HD the OWC 6G 240gb.

I did have a Intel 510 250gb but sold it. Nice drive but not that fast , I did enable trim on it but still had the occasional beach ball. The OWC not one beach ball

Well, I received my 120GB yesterday and did a fresh install for the OS X. I have zero issues with the drive except that I am not getting any where near the advertised speed of 559MB/s read, 527MB/s write. I get around 436MB write, 467MB read speeds on a 2GB file on AJA Bench. Could it be my Mac ? I have a 2011 Macbook Pro 13" 2.7 i7 upgraded with 8GB RAM.

When I contacted OWC via email they replied :

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Wait a few days, as you have just installed the system on your disk, and you have to let Sandforce controller to organize all the files to restore all the performance. I recommend you to deactivate the auto sleep mode on the economizer, and let the disk depurate by letting the system on for a few hours.

Then try the tests again. But you are getting more or less what 120gb sandforce driven SSDs are getting.

So is my drive working as it should with those bottom peaks results ?

238.0 513.8 513.4
239.0 511.4 509.0
240.0 513.0 503.4
241.0 514.6 506.2

Thanks in advance.:)

I think so.. ;)

Let it for a night on without doing anything, and all the system autosleep options disabled.. it should even improve those results... I did it with my vertex 3 and now it goes faster.. It seems that the sandforce controller needs some time to restore the performance after installing the system and programs on it. It is not as fast as trim, but it works!

To get the best results in Aja select the highest bit encode
And select 128mb size this also shows closer to peak results. I get 530/516

Wow Guy, yours is a month older than mine, but yet it doesn't have any issues. Lucky!

Hey HighSeasCaptain,

Everything you've said matches my issue exactly. I was wondering if any solution has come to your attention in the last couple of months? or what you've currently done.
