ok. ONE more time, so people can see that there is a fix, and this is NOT interference. I was doing perfectly fine with 10.5.2 with 7 strong signals around me, no interference. And when i updated to 10.5.4 it killed my connection. Everytime.

So! There is a fix to this, see the above posts. It works well.

his issue was quite different from yours (existing since tiger.) I don't think you two had the same problem.

His post describing that it has been fixed with an update sounds like the placebo is taking effect.

Ignore my last post. Upon further examination, it's still screwy. Use the 10.5.2 kext if you have issues.

He was not talking to you.

Wireless...

<sheepishly> My wireless works great. Running 10.5.4 on a MBP CD 2.0. All updates, and wireless, no matter where I go, is reliable.

I gotta ask though.... I see this type of issue so many times with my clients, And I'm not saying OP has this issue at all, but how many people have third party apps/extensions/etc... installed and have this problem?

I don't have anything extra installed because I need my Mac to be up and running all the time. I have had this OS, Carbon Copied from from my PowerBook G4 which was originally on my Titanium G4, and upgraded it every time. Even through 2 new hard drives on this MBP alone. All updates. No extra stuff.

I'm not saying this is for everyone, but boot up with a clean OS on an external drive and have all updates installed and I think the problem may not be there. If it is, it may be a hardware issue. Rare, but possible.

Just my thoughts.

I would like to know that also. Because i did a clean install, upgraded, and had problems. Anyone else try that?
