Started watching Defending Jacob today and I thought it was really good. I was expecting more episodes, but there were only 3, and the end of episode 3 left you hanging. Since this is the first time a new series has come out since I got tv+ is this the way they do it. Just a few episodes and then add another a few days or weekly. I guess I am just used to Netflix where they issue the whole season at once. Defending Jacob by the way awesome.

Yes. For most of the shows they’ve released a few at once, and then one a week after that.

Watched EP1 of Defending Jacob last night... not bad. The all Apple products in EP1 still stuck out, even if that's not far from reality these days. That said, it's better than seeing improbable mockups of computer UIs Hollywood used to love so much.

My favorite is when they have people use wired Apple EarPods with that stupid dongle. It’s only children and/or people who they want to portray as poor.

Just watched the latest episode. This bug anyone else? Numerous times people are using their Macs and get an iMessage, but they have to pick up their iPhones to read it and respond. Why aren’t they getting it on their Mac?

There are other shows on Apple TV+ that make a very good case for only receiving iMessages on one device ;)

The pedophile and the sketchy Asian school boy are two people clearly shown not using Apple devices. So my money is on the Asian boy being involved in the murder.

24 did that in Season 1 - 19 years ago.

I’m not a big fan of drama, and I think “the man helping his son proving his innocence” plot is horse **** and boring. The hero’s son will be innocent anyway, right.

After watching 1st episode I can’t stop watching.

I'm caught up on this one, and I have to say it started out really well in the first 3 episodes. The last 2 have kind of let the air out. I'm still curious to see what happens, but not on the edge of my seat anymore.

I think that’s fair. I got the free year of Apple TV+ recently from my iPP purchase and Defending Jacob caught my eye as most interesting And first series i’m trying. Watched an episode a night over last week or so and just caught up on ep5.

Still enjoying it, agree last 2 episodes haven’t been as exciting as first 3, though the first 3 were really plot moving and now, makes sense that these eps are slower given where we are in the story. Definitely plan to continue watching it through - anyone know how many episodes the season is supposed to be?

*Spoiler as well 😀*

Sometimes I think so also. That being said, they seem to be setting up for the pedophile to have done it, but lots can happen and could see a twist like that coming.

His stories of what happened that day were inconsistent. He’s obsessed with *cut porn* and nobody followed this lead much. He’s antisocial and looks like someone who’s capable of doing it. There are a lot of things that keep ticking the box.

I also think the mom suspected it.

Has anyone ever asked Jacob if he knows Leonard Patz?

Not that I know of. Seems like these two were separated in the story.

Another good theory is Sarah did it (the guy forced Sarah to give him BJ), and Jacob promised to help her cover it (that’s why his versions of the event were not consistent). So in turn Sarah helped Jacob when Derek(?) started to accuse him. Kind of make sense.

But I think if that’s what happened Jacob wouldn’t call her slut. I think it’s more like Jacob killed the guy to stop Sarah from giving him BJ.

"Seems like" is a good way of laying the ground for a plot twist. They laid the groundwork early on for us to believe parts of Matt's story (Patz deleting photos of Ben from his phone in one of the first episodes)... given Jacob's fits of jealous rage I wouldn't be surprised if Patz is the missing link to the story, but not the killer.

I'm still not wholly clear on the purpose of Andy's hearing. Are we leading up to something drastic that he does in the final two episodes (we already saw him going off the rails a little...) and this is some kind of criminal hearing of his own?

The last few episodes haven’t been as exciting as the first three but I haven’t stopped watching it either.

Part of me thinks that Jacob did it. He hasn’t shown empathy and has said multiple times that a lot of people die everyday.

Part of me also thinks that Sarah may have done it since she did have a motive. But then, Derek said that he was going to ha

I think Patz is hiding something. But I don’t think he was the killer- even though he did go back to the crime scene. Can’t remember which episode.

I’m all over the place. Should hopefully start getting some answers soon

Also, why are they only questioning Andy?why haven’t they shown the mom?
