there are more and more alumnium iphone 4 cases online , people are always puzzled to choose their right case for their device.. In my opinion, we'd better do more homework first ~~

If you really own, i would like to order one for my brother who are waiting iPhone 5 for a long time....

Other threads seem to indicate there are a LOT of knockoffs of this case. But it's not really clear what is meant by "knockoff" either or what are the actual differences in build, if any. Most of these cases are built in China or Taiwan so it could be that the manufacturers are selling the same exact item for much cheaper than through the company directly. I wish there was more information on this. I contacted Draco for a list of authorized resellers. I'll post back up if they ever respond.

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I got confirmation from the guys at slickgate.com that the one they sell (both the higher and lower quality ones) are NOT original. My assumption is that most are fake but they have only seem to have made fake AT&T versions that also seem to work with the iPhone 4S for some reason. You can tell those who sell fakes because they sell odd colors that Deff doesn't show on their site.

I haven't seen anywhere that sells the CDMA version (no sim card opening). If anyone has seen a place, please post it.

I'm actually meeting the owner of tekcases.com in person this week (Sunday) and will hopefully have concrete answer on whether the AT&T version of the official Cleave will fit the 4S. I'll report if it does. If it doesn't then I'll see if I can get the her to order some of the CDMA versions.

I'll keep everyone updated.

This type of aluminum iPhone 4 case could be the one of the most functional case online now. It looks to me from the shape and finish it's caste Aluminum. What a sweet case, a lil sweeter than my Vapor satin nickel, love rocking that case on my iPhone 4 Only concern is that there doesn't appear to be much in the way extension over the front or back of the iPhone to protect when laying on a flat surface.:p

Hey guys,

Sorry for the late update. I did end up getting a Draco from Tekcases when I met the owners in person this past Sunday. They let me try the case on the 4S and as they said, they work fine. So I can vouch first hand that at least the official Draco's work perfectly fine with the 4S (and by extension the Verizon 4).

Official word from Draco support was that, contrary to their website, there is no CDMA version or specific 4S version. Also, tekcases is the only authorized reseller in the US (they didn't give me a list of international).

Out of curiosity, I did buy a very cheap, probably fake, Draco off eBay so I can do a comparison of the quality. I won't get it for a couple of weeks though but I'll try to remember to post again once I have both.

That's wrong, igearusa is. You can now purchase directly from Draco as well.

To those that have the Draco IV case if they can confirm if the hole on the left showing on this sample photo has it or is was only for the Cleave case.

Hi Schneiderman, Are you saying igearusa sells fake Draco cases? Please confirm as I wanted to order one from them today.

No. Sorry I was wrong, both of them are authorized.

Yes it's on the Draco. Both the Draco and Cleave are the same case just called differently in the US and Japan.

Thanks for the showing the updated link. I was going off a direct email from Draco USA who said tekcases was the only authorized reseller in the US, but glad there are more sellers. Competition is good.

That said, it looks like tekcases is the cheapest as well currently has 10% off (was 12% last week when I bought).

They are amazing!

I dropped my 4S in the train station car park late in the evening this week. When I got home I noticed it was missing. I used 'find my iPhone' to see where it was. I drove back with my wife's mobile and when I arrived at the car park I rang my phone and saw the snow light up! A car had run over it and buried it! Luckily it was wearing a CLEAF aluminium bumper. The phone had landed screen up. There was no damage to the screen, only to the back which was shattered as you can see! The rigidity offered by the CLEAF case prevented the phone from flexing or squashing. So, its only $30 for a replacement back - THANK GOD FOR CLEAF (and the 'find my iPhone' app)

Its awesome that you found your phone using the "find my iphone" feature. And your phone is still working shows how aluminum cases are worth their money. Are there any scratches on the front?
