Like, what size hands does "average joe" have?

Definitely not Michael Strahan (Live with Kelly & Michael). Every time I watch him, it's like watching an octopus!

Like all the answers.

If you are asking any of those questions, you are not average.

"Average Joes" are the people who come to me (on average there's at least one or two daily) hold up an iPhone or the current Droid-of-the-week or a Samsung Galaxy S/2/3 and say "I just upgraded my phone to this thing because the Verizon sales person said it was the best phone out there, and I want to get my work e-mail on it and connect to the Wifi. Can you set it up for me?"

And so I do.

There are more of them out there than you think. Most people use computers and smartphones and tablets... but that doesn't mean they like them or know all about them.

And no, I'm not trying to knock on the tech-savvy of Verizon users, just anecdotally I've noticed that the most "average Joes" are on Verizon. Most AT&T/Sprint users for some reason seem to have enough knowledge to set these things up on their own, and I see them with the devices, but they rarely have to come to me or someone like me for help.

Average joes are your normal people, who do not come to forums posting about iPhones.
Haha indeed!
Most people in all reality just buy the phone they like and what they think is cool, rather than worrying about the serious techy stuff and posting on forums. I'm often amazed at the passion some people show here. :p :)

"Average Joe" is a person who walks in to a phone shop and comes out with a low end Android device because they're thinking they got a great smart phone on the cheap.

Which they didn't

the 1-2, are people like us. who know where and how to find info like this and can do all of our own trouble shooting on the phone ourselves.

i don't have any trouble with my iphone so i don't have to trouble shoot it, i'm sure i could if i wanted (i do it all day on other systems) but i want my own equipment to work without hassle as i have enough of IT equipment doing my job and would rather not have to come home and have to fix my own stuff :apple:

for real fo real... people who can't affort an iphone just can't. SORRY.

That does not sound like an iPhone user of any sort.
