I've had my new rMBP 15 for about two weeks now and I just noticed that the dollar sign symbol on my keyboard key is deformed:

Obviously I'm a bit disappointed that my over $2000 Apple product would have such a defect, but I guess things happen. And obviously it's only a cosmetic issue and it doesn't in any way detract from the key's functionality, but it does bother me a bit.

Do you think that if I took it into the Apple store that they would be willing/able to replace the key for me?

It wouldn't hurt to ask! I personally think they would do it, as it would fall under the lines of a cosmetic defect. Since it's still within 90 days of phone support, you can also call Apple and save yourself a trip to the store.

Worst case you can salvage the '4' key from eBay/other sources and pop it in yourself.
