Just received a new santa rosa 15" macbook pro 2.4/2gig/160gig and have noticed that there is always a second of delay before the pointer moves when i touch the trackpad. i never noticed this on my 12" powerbook.
Is this happening on everyone elses machine? It's like the pointer is stuck and then it starts moving.
Any ideas, is it a trackpad issue, an operating system thing.
I assumed that such a fast machine would be very responsive, this issue makes it feel sluggish.

Went to the apple site and this is apparently a "feature" called - ignore accidental trackpad input. After typing, the trackpad needs to be touched in the middle before it will start working again. After unchecking the box in System preferences my trackpad is back to the way I like it. Thought I'd post the answer for anyone else who is looking.

I owned one of the original MBPs and it had absolutely no lag. I don't know what the issue would be, but it's not normal. Possibly give apple a ring?

Oh i hate the track-pad thing.. lag or no lag, it's the most annoying peripheral any computer can have, much prefer the old trackballs as seen in old duos. Today I just use a bluetooth mouse.

Oh geez, I knew I was either going crazy, my new MBP was failing already, or I stupidly turned on some random setting.

Good thing it was the last one! :D
