Since updating my iPhone 7 to iOS 11.0.2 I notice that there is a pause every time I touch the home button before the home screen appears. It was instant and smooth before- does anyone else experience this?

Anyone remember how janky pulling down spotlight was? That was janky for like 3 iOS iterations lol.

Either one of two things are going on here:

1) Apple has purposely introduced lag (for a feature you use several times daily) on a 1 year old device, to force you to upgrade.

2) Your iPhone 7's processor is too weak to pull up the multitasking menu without being slow and janky.

Take your pick, but basically at this point, you now have to either get used to it, or buy a new phone.

Or 3) it’s a bug and will be fixed in later versions of iOS like the iPhone 7 wallpaper animation being fixed in 10.2.

All these conspiracy theories are really annoying and flat out stupid.

Whatever you want to believe, something this big is not a bug. Unless we're talking about something Apple noticed and decided wasn't important enough to fix immediately. Which if one believes Apple is competent, seems unlikely.

Again, wallpaper animation bug in iOS 10. It was there till iOS 10.2. You really think lag is at the top of the list for bug fixes? It’s cosmetic. It doesn’t affect the device in a catastrophic way.

I would fix lag issues 10x over before a wallpaper bug.
The wallpaper bug was "lag". There is literally a 100 page thread on it. People claimed it was a home button lag, but it turns out the animation of the wallpaper was 6-10 frames longer than other devices which gave the appearance of lag.
