delayed custom mbp 17

hi all,

just wondering if anyone knows how long it takes to get a custom mbp. i ordered the 17", 2gb ram, 100gb hdd. ordered it may 10, and it was estimated to ship may 24, but today it got pushed back to june 6 🙁

makes me wonder what's going on, if they are finding more problems or something.

anyone have any inside info?

called apple... they said it was a problem with supply and demand... lots of people are ordering the 17"... guess that's a good thing.

i didn't ask, but i also didn't really ask if it were delayed because it was custom... she made it sould like all 17" books were delayed because of such high demand.

i just ordered mine from apple.com and got an estimated ship date of june 8. when i called to complain, yet never threatened to cancel, she assumed i wanted to cancel, so offered me $125US plus FREE 2-3 Day shipping.
