I'm trying to delete a user account that seems to be linked to the main administrator account. (if I change the icon on one account, it also changes on the other) The message I get says "an error occurred while backing up to this users home folder. How can I delete this account"? Thanks for any help.

On your Mac, delete users and groups to remove their access to your Mac. You must be an administrator user.

Is “Save the home folder as a disk image” selected? Because it seems like that is where it is having the issue. Are you trying to save the files in the home folder of the user you’re trying to delete? You could try the “Leave the user’s home folder as is”. Or if you’re not trying to save anything, you can use the “Remove the user’s home folder from the computer” option.
