delete a partition?

I accidentally tried to use time-machine to make an extra partition on my HD, but that is obviously somewhat useless.

How can I remove it? I turned off time machine...restarted. I ejected it...restarted. I can't delete a partition?

Have you tried using your restore discs and going into disk utility and seeing if you can delete it from there?
