delete idisk icon

Started the trial for MobileMe, including iDisk, then cancelled, not wanting to use the service and utilities. But the iDisk icon remains on the desktop and am unable to remove it. Suggestions, please? Thank you.

Finder > Preferences.

Untick 'iDisk' from the list of icons to be shown.

Or you can simply hold down the Command key then drag the iDisk outside the Finder's sidebar.
