Just stumbled across this online and thought I'd post just in case anyone was wondering how to do this.

To Delete items from a Time Machine Backup

1) Open Time Machine and find the file or folder you want to remove from the backup.
2) Select the file or folder and click the "gear" icon in the Finder toolbar.
3) You will have 2 options:
Delete All Backups of "file or folder name"
Delete Backup.

I was wondering actually! I just went onto my external HD and literally dragged the file to the trash- is that alright?

Don't just drag files into the trash, you can corrupt your entire backup set. When I was screwing around in previous seeds I hosed the entire backup set by deleting a set.
