delete message in iMail, Gmail IMAP acct

I just started last night getting the following message when selecting an email and deleting or attempting to delete it. Now this is imail talking to google/gmail with the acct set up as IMAP. NOTHING has change that I am aware of.

The destination mailbox “(null)” does not allow messages to be moved to it.

It's not iMail. It's Apple Mail. Have you tried just rebooting?

I was having this same problem. When I expanded the trash (clicked that arrow next to it) I noticed that the problem email account had a different icon. I deleted the email account and re-added it (it was IMAP so I lost nothing) and problem fixed.
