Delete photos from ipad2?

I have an ipad2 with icloud enabled/disabled and photostream enabled.

I am trying to take all the photos off the ipad but want to be able to add them at a later date. 😕

Itunes frustrates me to no end-sorry. Other than that i love apple hardware.

P.S I did read that I can go into "useage" on my device and delete photos that way? I did or think backed up everything to icloud.

Deleting from ipad, usage menu didnt work. 🙁

I hit delete but nothing happened.

Are these pictures ones you took with your iPad camera, or were they synced from your Mac?

I used the "image capture" app to delete the pics
