Hey, Is there any way to delete pictures form Photo Stream?

not officially. the iPad had a delete button that was greyed out in beta 1 but it got removed. Its frustrating!

someone came up with a way to do it via iFunbox or iPhone explorer, but you have to do that on each device and doesn't remove if from appearing on the ATV.

Thanks i might try this, and what does ATV mean...sorry.

Apple TV. There was talk that they are only on there for 30 days, but that was from a forum, i never saw an official source for it. i know it's meant to be the last 1000 photos anyway.

when you get iPhone Explorer, the images for photostream are in "/Media/PhotoStreamsData/100Apple"

it might take a restart or 2 as well as it doesn't disappear straight away.

Ok but how does this remove it from the actual iCloud? Doesn't this just remove it from the phone?

that's what i was saying about it still showing on the Apple TV, it just removes it from the device, not the iCloud, but you won't see it on the device unless you turn off and on the photostream or set up as new again. it's a temporary workaround.

Ooooooo ok, Ill just keep photo stream off for now

Photo stream still needs some serious work.

Picture this.. you're roaming and have a data bundle, say 50mb.
You use data on your iphone but using photostream would suck up your data allowance dry after a few pictures taken during your holidays.

There should be a toggle to turn off photo stream while on 3G Data.
Same for OTA updates. Just like there are such toggles for automatic app downloads.

photostream is over wifi only to upload.

OTA updates are manual to do, not automatic.

Actually my OTA update for beta 4 only notified me to install it. It was already downloaded in the background...i had no idea it downloaded it

interesting! mine didn't auto download. could yours have autodownloaded on wifi tho at some point as it came out early friday evening (uk time)

Now that I think about it that could have happened. It only asked me to install when I left my beach house.

I really hope theres a way to delete photos in photostream by the Gold master release, or the public release.

Its fustrating but then good when you delete a picture by mistake, because its right there in photstream :)

Hahahahahahaha

So if I have 195 pics in photo stream and 135 in my regular album what happens now if I turn photo stream off? Will it delete the photo stream album? If I turn it back on will it then sync the 135 on my device?

if you turn off photoi stream, then turn it back on, it should sync the 195 from your photostream.

you can currently wipe your whole photostream from the web interface for iCloud, you go into your account settings (which you do by clicking your name on the top of the main screen), view account, then click advanced. and you have 'Reset Photo Stream'.

not a 1 by 1 way, but something for now. This was discussed in the main thread about deleting photos from photostream in the iCloud subforum.
