Why not just delete your call log? That should remove the recents from your card view.

Doesn't seem like that does it. In fact it's hard to say how exactly it might even relate to it.

Tried that. Recents in task switcher have nothing to do with call log and it includes people you have emailed and texted which doesn't display in the call log

That's because gathers its your recent contacts from Phone, Facebook and Messages (and maybe Mail as well), not just the phone log. The only way we'll be able to delete it is if they implement an option to do so.

I know texts and iMessages affect it. I was in a place where I had no phone service except for iMessage and texts, and the people I text last were up there in order.

Yeah, those seem to be more relevant somehow, but why not calls or emails? And if I delete messages it doesn't seem to clear things out either.

I hope they do something about recents, i hate having a bunch of faces up there.

I set up my iPhone as new with iOS 8 and the people in my recents were people I had recently contacted in the days before I installed iOS 8. (Even though I had no texts, missed calls, etc.). So this information must have been stored in the iCloud, even before iOS 8...

Thats the problem I have with it. I do not want to see people even people I know in my OS unless I am looking for a contact witch I am NEVER doing when I go to multitasking. They really should give an option to turn this off before the public release but sooner is better.

Yeah, it is an odd choice to put this in the multitasking area. It would have been cool to have this at the top in the contacts app.

Yes it would be nice to have in the contacts app. And if they had to have it in multitasking it could be there if I have the phone or contacts app open. Then maybe some one would need it. I really really hope they allow us to turn that off. Can so one with iOS 8 email Tim Cook and tell him about this I want to let him know how I feel about this but I don't want to be that guy that complains right to the CEO before using it. I feel that Tim would not like that.

You currently can't. The ones you delete end up coming back very soon.

That doesn't cut it. I want the sites I visit to be recorded in the history but don't want to see them in the main screen unless I add them there explicitly.

Anti-porn discovery initiative? :p

Private browsing would have been enough for the Anti-porn discovery initiative? :D

I want all pages I've visited to be available for auto-completion in the address bar but don't want them to make the screen unnecessarily crowded.

Very strange. I wish they would put favorites up first and then slide to get to recents.

Looks like Apple finally added an option in iOS 8 beta 4 to enable/disable this in settings.
