Delete the content of a partition

Hi to all,

i have 2 partitions at my HD.

do you know anyway to delete the content of one of them without touching the content of the other one?

If i need some app, can you tell me someone free?

Disk Utility
in the left hand list, choose the specific Partition, not the Volume
Erase.

that didnt work...

i mean:

i chose the partition i want to delete the content, then i chose "Delete", and then "Partition", but all my data desapeared...I had to install mac os again.


Without pushing "Partition" no changes are updated...

any idea?
