I have moved an installer into the launchpad. The problem is that I would like to remove it now but as it is an installer it doesn't appear in "Applications" in the Finder. I can't right-click the icon to remove it nor can I drag and drop it into the trash.

yes and switched it off still no joy I have been looking to see if there's a terminal fix but the only one I've come across doesn't work in Sierra .

When you open launchpad and hold down the option key, you you get a X button to delete the installer?

Can you open the Applications folder directly and delete it that way? (Macintosh HD/Applications/)

I tried both but neither worked before I posted originally. But I've got rid of it now because I went into, the library and found it.
