Deleted email from inbox don't show up in trash.

Running Mac OS 26, when I delete an email from the inbox it does not show up in the trash. If I go to my iPhone, iOS 26, and look in the mail trash, there are the deleted emails from the Mac. Mail worked great in Mac OS 15. Is this a known problem?
Thanks for any help

Edit: Now I have 4 unread emails on my iPhone and only 1 shows up on my Mac even after a refresh of Checking for Mail.
