Ok, so i had my own folder that i had created on my Doc. I accidentally moved it out of the Doc. I can no longer find the folder anywhere on my computer. Please help, I need that folder back.

@Maclearn, don't worry! Folders don't exist on docks so you couldn't have deleted it. I'm sure it's still there somewhere in your system.

Do you know what the folder was called? What kind of files did you have in it?

it was a folder for my school work. I have searched the finder by looking through the main folders and by simply typing school work into the search bar, but still no luck.

Check in your home folder:
  • Click Finder in the Dock
  • Choose Documents Folder
  • Look in there
  • If not, try Downloads folder

You cannot delete a folder by dragging it out of the dock. Right-clicking dock folders also doesn't let you delete folders from their original location.

The files should still be there.

Another approach:
Do you know the name of a file in that folder?
Search for the file, see if Spotlight gives the path to it.
If not, see if you can open it from Spotlight.
If that works, do a SaveAs and check where it is in the Save Dialog.
If that doesn't show, click the "disclosure" triangle next to the box containing file's name.
