Don't ask

Short story is...
I upgraded to Yosemite, then downgraded back to Mavericks, my user accounts were changed to standard from Admin for some reason.

I added a new user Admin account, changed the standard back to Admin, but when i deleted the temp user account i clicked this... As seen in the picture.

Now, i can access some things, but my SSD, HD & External wont give me access. They flicker when i try to open them :(

Now i do have an old back up on the external, but the OS wont let me access that either. Could i somehow retrieve the home folder from the external and drop it in the HD?

I have another MacBook here that i could connect up for helping the situation with transferring things etc.

Any chance of getting this home folder back?

I'm a little confused what you have going on now.

So you have a running machine with Mavericks and your real user account, but the data in that account is gone?

The backup you mentioned, how was that made (Time Machine?)?
