Ok so I just spent 2 hours typing a lab paper for one of my classes in pages and it needed to be in .docx format. So stupid me decided to try an unconventional way of converting it, I found the file in finder and right click>more info on the file and then changed the file extension from .pages-tef to .docx. And it erased all the data that I had entered into the file even though I had saved the file before I did this all. But it won't let me revert it to an older save or anything. Is there anyway that I can get my information back? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Changing the extension won't change the file type. You could at least try to change the extension back to the previous one. Or you could try 'Open Recent...' from within Pages.

But next time, use the Save As/Export feature to change file formats.
