Deleted System Prefs

I have a major problem. I was using clean app to delete some old programs, and it deleted something to do with the system prefs. It just shows a question mark over the icon. What do I do??? Can i just install that program?

Stay away from cleaning apps. Does reinstalling the relevant OS combo update help? 🙂

Try installing it off the install disks. I'm not sure how good your chances are, though. You might be able to pull it off another intel-based mac.

Would it just be a complete reinstall? Wiping out everything?

Just download and reinstall this. If that fails, I guess an Archive & Install would help. Back up your data although technically you shouldn't lose anything. 🙂

Thank you so much for your quick help. It turns out that there is not an archive and install option with the disks i had, but there is an option to upgrade and it worked like a charm.
