I've long wanted a way to delete a range of emails at one time rather than having to click "edit" and then tap each email - then click delete. Apple should create a way to tag a range of emails so you can mass delete easier.
I cant see the point in deleting them off your phone. It doesnt slow it down, you're wanting to keep them on your computer and so it just seems pointless
You guys are missing the point in trying to defend Apple's short sighted policy.
I almost think they didn't include it because they have no idea how real business works.
All they need to do is add a mark all, then let me choose delete or read.
Everyone is happy and it is so easy to implement.
One of the reasons I can't wait to jailbreak my phone again.
Thank you for trying to help clarify this. It really is so simple to fix.
Did Apple not implement a way to delete ALL emails at once in iOS 5? I find it very hard to believe there is still no option to do so. Am I overlooking something here?
Try this:
1. Go to the account
2. Select the inbox.
3. Tap edit & select any email
4. Hold down the MOVE button
5. While holding the Move button, deselect the email
6. Release the Move button
7. Select the folder where you'd like to move the mail
It worked for me (iPad 2, iOS 5). It may seem like a lot of steps, but when you actually do it, it's not as hard as it reads.

Wow, just tried this now and it worked!
Amazing, thank you so much.
I tried it with Mark instead of Delete and that worked.
It seems to crash my iPhone 4S but on the iPad, no problems.
...and how many people do you think need to regularly delete all their emails? This request is what is ridiculous![]()

You must not be in any type of business that requires the use of email. Who needs to have copies of all their emails on their phone when they have them already on their computer inbox? You not understanding that is what's ridiculous!
This way when I have my emails coming to my phone I can delete all once I retrieve them onto my computer. There's no need to have them on the phone once they're already in my email client on my Macbook Pro.
