Seriously, folks.... I have struggled with this for YEARS.

Let me be blunt: I've tried everything possible to delete my outdated insurance card from Progressive, effectively removing it from my apple wallet. I've looked in my phone's settings, in the wallet app itself, I've googled, checked out the search function here... nothing that really explains what I've encountered.

I've had a handful of iPhones over the years, and every single one of them would not yield a way to remove my insurance card, at any point in time. My current iPhone 11 is having the same problem my iPhone XR, iPhone X, iPhone 8 Plus, and iPhone 6S Plus have all had. Every single phone has successfully prevented me from deleting that damned outdated insurance card, and I can't, for the life of me, figure out a way to get rid of it!

Has anyone else had this issue, fixed the issue, anything? I can do whatever I want to anything else I put in the friggin wallet, too! Debit cards, credit cards, airline boarding passes (when I did fly), Apple pickup tickets, anything I've ever put in the wallet I have been able to remove... except the untouchable Progressive insurance cards. Once in the wallet, they're there forever it seems 🤷‍♂️

Any insight would be appreciated! 🙃

Throughout the whole post you’ve never once mentioned what the actual issue is when you try to delete the card. Do you see any error? What have you tried in terms of steps? Where do you face issues while trying these steps? Without actual details nobody can help.

Have you tried disabling the "Add to Apple Wallet" setting in the Progressive app?

I really wish there was more I could say. Without uploading screenshots (I will do that, just need to edit out the private info), there's very little I can say. My main thing is this: when in the wallet app, or settings, there is no way of deleting them (and I really am looking at every possible way to delete it). If people tell you to touch the ellipsis and bring up a menu, and use an option in that menu to delete it... I don't have that option to begin with! Pick a walkthrough that's easy to find online, and pretend some of those steps don't exist on any of the iPhones I've ever owned... that's literally my experience with deleting these insurance cards.

When the phone doesn't do something, it's very hard to explain with a paragraph or two. I may just upload a quick screen recording so I can explain more (I do better with video editing than photos). There are no errors, ever. Steps I've followed? Probably thousands, considering all the methods I've tried over the years. Literally, a multi-year long issue, so I'm not about to type out a recreation of all the steps/methods I've tried. It's just too lengthy and time consuming. As for "where I face issues while trying these steps"........ Not sure what you're asking. Sometimes it's in the house, the car, while walking, or even in a library. But seriously, if you mean at what point does something not go as the qwalkthrough showed? Usually it's when you're trying to get into the options that include "Delete/Remove/Etc." and typically the option to remove the card just isn't there. At all.

Have you tried disabling the "Add to Apple Wallet" setting in the Progressive app?
I'm not sure how to do that. I've done the old speedy google check, but nothing immediately popped up. I'll keep digging, though! I'm open to any idea at this point lol. Poking around the progressive app yielded nothing, so I'll look harder through the day. I will update if that does anything at all lol

Out of interest, have you scrolled all the way to the bottom of the wallet then hit "Edit Passes" there? If you have and you are still out of luck then the card may be registered as a credit\debit card and may be locked for that reason, at which point try deleting the app itself.

Believe it or not, the option for "Edit Passes" isn't even a thing for me lol. It doesn't exist. I guess I'll delete the app and start over. That part didn't occur to me, as I figured the attached cards would stay there after re-downloading. That's a common theme with certain apps I've reinstalled due to a glitch.

I'll try deleting, reinstalling, and I'll report back if anything goes haywire lol

I know I'm late to the game on this post, but I'm curious about the fix. I, too, was having this same issue with my Progressive insurance card, so I happened across your post through my Google search.

When accessing the Wallet app by double-clicking my iPhone XS's power button, the "Edit Passes" option doesn't show up and I could not find any other way to delete my expired card. But, if you access Wallet through the icon, "Edit Passes" IS indeed an option at the bottom of the screen as stated by @TiggrToo.

Once I learned this, removing my pass was a breeze! Hopefully you found the same thing!

Cheers!

please tell me there is a fix to this. i see the "..." but cannot do anything but "OPEN" the associated app. It has left a hotel reservation from a year ago in there also. Absolutely fkng annoying and can't believe it was overlooked, being such a key feature of the phone, having it's own two button tap to get right to wallet.

The fix... smh... you have to open the WALLET APP.... go to bottom and edit... someone above said that I think but I though they meant Wallet Settings... anyhow, hopes this helps someone who's OCD is flipping out about now, lol.

When you touch the three dots on the top right, that takes you to the "GET" card or app, (see the image below) look below it should have "Remove Pass" in red. I just spent 6 hours trying to figure out how to remove my old Geico card from it.
Hope it helps!

Easy fix, go to control center, add wallet to slide down menu, slide down screen and select wallet, now when you select what you want to remove and hit the 3 dots it gives you a remove option, if you double click to open wallet it will not give the option to delete, hope that helps

OMG I FIGURED IT OUT!!!!

You need to go into the app from the Icon on the homescreen! Once you’re in your actual “wallet” (not on the quick link-double clicking the side button or the one from the settings section) you’ll see EVERYTHING that exists in your wallet. From there scroll down to see the cards. Tap the progressive cards and swipe to the one you’d like to remove. Tap the three dots at the top right of the screen. You will then see the elusive and mysterious REMOVE PASS button everyone keeps talking about. Once clicked you can delete the pass and erase them from your wallet forever!!!

Don’t mind my enthusiasm as I delete years of cards from my wallet!
