Deleting .band files

Has anyone else here experienced an issue where GarageBand files (.band) cannot be put into the Trash? I have some .band files and when I drag them to the Trash I get a message that reads, "The item "My Song.band" can't be moved to the Trash because it can't be deleted." How do I delete these files?
