deleting Cookies on Safari

HI---Im having trouble with access to a utilities portal and the agent has suggested it may be due to 'cookies' and has recommended deleting them. How do I do this ? And, is there any 'downside to taking this action?

Dear E3BK, Thanks for your swift reply and straightforward instruction. What I see when I go to 'manage website data' is an astoundingly-long list of Cookies, 'Local Storage' and 'Cache.' The choices offered are search (select) and 'remove all.' that's alot of stuff with one click. One again, is there some advantage to having these things or do savvy Computer users delete accumulation of Cookies periodically? Im ready to dump the stuff but wanted to check in on this one more time before deleting. thanks again for your help

It’s just cookies and trackers so worst thing is you would have to log back into website that had a cookie saved. But it also kills any trackers a website planted in there. I clean it out every few days or weeks for various reasons.
 
OP --

I suggest you start using a "cookie manager".
It will get rid of all the cookies EXCEPT FOR those you specifically wish to keep around (such as from forums that require a username and password, etc.).
