Deleting icons near the clock

How do you delete/remove the icons on the top right of the screen near the clock? I'm trying to get rid of the dropbox icon there.

Hold the Command key and drag unwanted icons off the Menu Bar.

It doesn't work on my dropbox and vmware fusion icons.

Dropbox doesn't have the option of removing it. I've seen it be requested but they always say it's needed to show the status. You can change it to B&W in the prefs and that's it afaik

Agreed x2. I had istat pro installed in the menu bar after not realizing that there was a widget available. When the demo had expired, there were annoying exclamation points where the stats once stood. I thought that the demo would remove itself. Tried appzapper to completely remove the app and it didn't work.

Tried the command button and moved everything to the trash successfully.
