Deleting messages in Messages app

why is deleting messages such a hustle and works so badly?
it's been this way for years and now in big sur it's even worse.

i dont get why they dont implement an easy way to delete single or multiple messages in an easy way
it's basically like "yo if you want to delete something delete the whole thread.

Using the Command key or the shift key does not let me do multiple selections in Messages. It only selects one at a time

I don't have any problem. It's working for me as expected. macOS 11.2

And I'm talking about selecting multiple messages in specific thread.

it simply does not work and is super slow if maybe one message gets deleted.
messages is horrifc in that regard. this failure is going on for years. apple should really work on functionality rather than implementing memoji stickers etc.
