Deleting Programmes?

I can't find uninstall options on some programmes, like a real old version of netscape i downloaded. in windows there was an add/remove programmes option to unistall stuff. is there any such thing on my ibook or any way of thoroughly uninstalling apps?thanks!

Drag the application to the trash can, empty trash can.

I thought with some programs you had to go into the library and delete some files or something like that.
