Hey guys,

So my external hard drive is getting pretty full and I've decided I'm going to delete a large chunk of my Time Machine backups. Can I delete them manually from the backups folder on my external HDD or do I need to go in to Time Machine myself and click on the small gear to delete the backups all one by one (which I've been doing for about 10 minutes now and only deleted around 3 backups)

Thanks!

so TM actually drops the oldest backups as it continues to backup the latest files.

a good, healthy TM backup will show [no] space available on the target drive.

if you really want to delete backups, I would simply format the external drive and start with fresh backups from today....
