i just deleted a whole bunch of .avi files by accident, trash cleared and everything. what is the best file recovery application for mac? thanks a lot. can't wait for time machine!

This has worked for me in the past.

Just don't write anything to the disk if possible. I boot from my external drive (cloned by superduper) and run the utility against the main drive.

the above idea is a great one though.
if you don't write anything to the hard drive from which you deleted your file, you will significantly reduce the chance of accidently overwriting the deleted file's data on the HD.

yeah too late i guess, oh well its not the end of the world. i dont have my external drive with me right now. so no backup ether. thanks for the help though
