Recently I had a toaster delivered... They delivered it to my front porch.... unfortuantly they did if from the sidewalk... the box and contents was totally destroyed.... Luckily the vendor replaced it with a new one, delivered by another service.
A lot of times that happens so that the delivery person can get done with the route quicker. I have had it happen to me a few times and the delivery person definitely did not knock or ring the doorbell.
I've had the same, and cheesed off. I'm sure its not personal, but if they skip going to the door, for more people, i guess the route would be quicker, but its not service by any means.
I don't even have a door-bell which makes thing worse. as 90%of them don't even knock.. They just stay there waiting for something to happen.. lol.. (as if the door would magically open by itself)?
Its only by luck, i stay out out in the front room to watch for them specifically rather than stay in the back room. If i had done that, i'm sure i would have have missed 90% of my deliveries. Much better than keep complaining over the phone after.
FedEx told me that due to the pandemic, they don't give any refund for late delivery. They just use the pandemic as an excuse for late delivery, missing items, delivery persons not doing their jobs.
