Delivered...Read...back to Delivered (Finally Fixed?)

Ever since iOS 9, iMessages would go from Delivered status to Read status when the recipient viewed the message....However, if you closed out of the Messages app and reopened it, it would go back to "Delivered"

This finally....FINALLY...appears to be fixed in iOS 11.3

If anyone else knows what I'm talking about, can you confirm?
 
Still shows delivered until a person responds to my txt. After that “Delivered” disappears. Some times Delivered stays.

Haven’t seen Read yet, I’ve been using iOS since 10.3.
 
I had never had that issue.

Read is only for users who wants their recipient to see he/she had read their message.

Good to know. Some options were turned off and some were turned On when I went from iOS 10 to iOS 11.

I’ll compare it with my friends iPhone and see if his is On and if he is seeing Read when I txt him.

I def turned mines on so others can see I read their messages so it can annoy them if I don't respond

I am having this problem with my iphone 7+ on the newest update and the past 2..Will show its read and never responded back to me but then i check later and it just says delivered? Also have problems where my laptop says read but my phone says delivered or vice versa
