Ordered iPhone 7 Plus 32g about 3:12 am Fri. For some reason I was expecting delivery on Friday Sept 16. Now I'm seeing Sept 27 ??
It's like Christmas being delayed. I thought I read they will be available at retail stores on Sept 16. I'm depressed !!:(

I'm not sure why your order would be pushed a week further if your order was set to be delivered on the 16th, which is three days from now. Contact Apple.

I just assumed since they're retail worthy on the 16th (I guess), I figured pre-orders would be delivered the same day. Perhaps I was wrong. It's like going to bed expecting a snow day, and waking up to sunshine.

Did you just join? The Apple Store didn't even let some of east coaster in until 3:10. He didn't order late. APPLE's website went up LATE.

No I've been a member for a few years. That's how I know it's best to use the Apple Store app and not the website ;-P

Apple always reserves a supply of devices for launch day delivery for pre-order. That does not mean that as long as you pre-order, you get delivery on launch day. Once the launch day delivery allotment is gone, the dates start to slip. Feel free to get on line at your local Apple store and see if you can get one there.

Nothing has changed this year - the process has been the same, all along.

Was seeing the "We've got something special in store for you screen" until 12:09 am on the iPad and iPhone on my end. Possibly the Apple Store app was cached and didn't reload, thus why the Apple Store app was not working for everyone at 12:01am.

I ordered at like 3:11 and got release day delivery on a 128gb black plus

You ordered 11 minutes after the store went up and got a 128gb plus matte black for delivery on the 16th? I guess you are in the US?

Yeah I saw it till 12.03am and then placed an order.

I kept killing the app and reloading. I didn't trust my 6+ to do it by itself.

Yeah....I don't think you "quite" get it dude.

The app kept crashing for some (Me) the website did not open for some of us until at least 10 after (Me) and ATT totally crash and burned.

So my order was not confirmed until 15 after and that was with a pre-log in, item favorited on both the app and website AND ATT.

I think this guy's article is spot on, they pulled a damn bait and switch and knew it all along. For some, it is not the end of the world and it is not for me either. But it IS a huge, job pinching pain in the a$$. Some of us have some real logistics to consider and would never in a million years think that getting an order in within the first 15 minutes of the pre-order would result in delays possibly toward the end of the damn month.

My nearest Apple Store is 30 miles. So if I go to the store with my order # I might can get one there, and I won't have to worry about receiving the first one? If people still line up at midnight, fuggadaboutit.

OP, did you get 9/16 delivery when placing the order and in your email confirmation? And then it recently slipped?

I ordered ATT 7 plus 256 silver, it is in my support profile with serial number and preparing for shipment with delivery on 9/16
