Hi all,

firstly, please no comments like you see on Reddit along the lines of “wait, enjoy the next 2 weeks, stop being impatient”

I am impatient and I hate waiting, mainly due to excitement.
So, I placed an order for a new 16” MacBook Pro this weekend. It’s custom, with 64GB RAM and upgraded GPU.

I have a delivery estimate as it stands of over 2 weeks. I’m based in the U.K.
What’s everyone experience was shipping estimates? Anyone placed one recently in the COVID crisis and have any feedback on delivery versus estimates?

Apple support literally said they can’t comment if it will be sooner or not, of course.

feedback grateful!

thank you!

Nobody really likes waiting but sometimes you have to. Did you pay for faster shipping? I ordered a 16" BTO March 30 (with expedited shipping) that was supposed to arrive April 7, it got held up in China for 5 days or so, then once it started to move it went fast, got it April 14. Was a week late but with all that's going on right now definitely not the end of the world. I understand the excitement but that's the way it goes. Enjoy your computer when you get it. Definitely worth the wait.

I ordered a 16” refurb 2.3/32gb/2TB/8GB graphics on Saturday just gone. Was due for delivery today but because I added a smart keyboard it’s now between 6-11 May. Apple can’t ship separately as it’s on the Barclays 0% finance. Gutted as I am very impatient!

Did you consider a refurb there we’re all sorts of specs online and available for next day delivery when I looked on Saturday.

I ordered a new 13" MBP i5/16/1TB 10th generation Intel on Monday, May 4. It says it will be delivered Friday, May 8. Yay.

Good things come to those who wait. I understand that we live in an instant gratification society, but at times we all have wait

Two weeks isn't that bad, and its quite reasonable given the current health situation that the entire world is grappling with.

If you’re in the UK this Friday is a bank holiday!

Just had an update weirdly that it’s been shipped! Wonder when it will deliver. It’s with synchreon apparently

Yes you’re quite right. I can wait but would be lying if I said I wouldn’t want it tomorrow if I could!
Considering the current situation I am grateful I’m still alive to be able to order these things!

When I placed my order yesterday, I fully expected it to be 3-4 weeks. I did not expect a four day delivery window. It’s possible that it helps if the order is not a Built-To-Order (BTO).

Of course I can wait, and I’m definitely don’t think 2 weeks is unreasonable - even more so in the current climate.

I think just as any normal, excited, human being, I’m just intrigued to know if estimates are accurate or not with BTO orders. That’s all.

As an update, my order has moved to ‘preparing to ship’

Non the wiser if this means it comes earlier or not but however. Progress is good!

Does anybody know how to track the orders between China and Netherlands? I’ve searched through MacRumours forums and found various suggestions but I think they are all outdated now. I am with DHL, shipping to UK via NL

Mine is also shipping to Europe with DHL. Interestingly, it says that estimated delivery is today. However, tracking the parcel shows that DHL still is not in possession of the parcel. Kind of weird, isn’t it?
